ECOMAL Europe GmbH has now existed for 50 years at its headquarters in Kirchzarten, in the heart of the Black Forest. ECOMAL was originally founded under the name Roederstein Bauelemente-Vertrieb GmbH in June 1972.
In January 1993, the globally active US group VISHAY Intertechnology, headquartered in Malvern, Pennsylvania/USA, took over the company, which had meanwhile built up a widespread sales structure for electronic components with branches and partners throughout Europe. Roederstein was incorporated into VISHAY Electronic Components Europe, based in Selb, and from August 1994 traded under the name VISHAY Bauelemente-Vertrieb GmbH.
Due to the European alignment of the distribution and the inclusion of the active components of VISHAY Semiconductor GmbH, Telefunken and Siliconix, a reorientation became necessary again: In January 2000, ECOMAL Deutschland GmbH emerged from VISHAY Bauelemente-Vertrieb GmbH. The delivery program could be expanded by the steadily growing VISHAY portfolio.

Electronic Components and Logistics
Of course, the "E" could also stand for Europe, since ECOMAL sells the electronic components through its branches in Germany and through its national companies in Switzerland, Austria, Czech Republic, Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Great Britain and Italy. There were also sales offices in Poland and Hungary. In July 2012, the ECOMAL family expanded with the national company Iberia (Spain and Portugal). Since January 2014, ECOMAL has had a national company in Sweden. In 2015, the sales offices in Poland and Hungary became national companies. In 2017, another national company was founded in Slovenia.
From October 2001 to April 2002, the warehouses of all national companies were centralized in a logistics center in Kirchzarten. The availability of the components is optimal. 49,000 different products are in stock, a total of 6 billion pieces. Warehouse management is largely automated, so that every branch has an insight into the stocks. Since March 2012, the warehouse capacity has been expanded from 4000m² to 9000m².
Since January 2014, ECOMAL Deutschland GmbH has been renamed to ECOMAL Europe GmbH. The changed name underlines the growth-oriented goals and is an expression of further development.
